INTERNATIONAL NETWORKS

IN SITU - European network for artistic creation in public space

KIT is member of IN SITU – a European network led by Lieux publics in Marseilles and focusing on multidisciplinary European works dedicated to public space.

In May 2011, the network embarked on a five-year project with the support of the European Commission. META 2011-16 explores the challenges linking art and public space to the construction of a contemporary European society. 19 cultural organisations and festivals from 14 countries are working together to facilitate the development of contemporary artistic forms intended for public space and weave renewed links with the local populations.

New Nordic Circus Network

KIT is member of New Nordic Circus Network (NNCN) – an overall development programme for contemporary circus in the Nordic countries with the aim of placing contemporary circus on the cultural map of the Nordic countries.

NNCN’s main partners are: Københavns Internationale Teater (DK), Finnish Circus Information Centre (FI), Cirko – Centre for New Circus (FI), The Circus Village (NO) andSubtopia (SE)

The overall goal of NNCN is to develop a supportive and active structure to improve the conditions and the opportunities for the contemporary circus sector in the Nordic countries. NNCN is active in enhancing the possibilities for artistic creation for Nordic circus artists and to broaden the knowledge about Nordic contemporary circus on an international level.NNCN is supported by Nordic Culture Point.

Circostrada Network

KIT is member of Circostrada Network – a European platform for street and circus arts, dedicated to information, observation and professional exchanges. Representing more than 50 members from 17 countries, the network is working to develop the structuring and recognition of these sectors in Europe.

HorsLesMurs, the French national information centre for street and circus arts, which supports artistic activities through observation, documentation, training, expertise, research and publishing, is the secretariat of Circostrada.
